Hijacking traffic with domains implies the registration of a domain name in order to gain traffic coming from type-in or mispelling a generic term, name or established brand or website.

Cybersquatting is the most famous form of hijacking traffic. Hijacking traffic can also be achieved with spywares, 302 redirect, or, at a much larger scale, by returning a search page when the domain is not found. In this regard, Microsoft (with IE) and Google (with firefox) are hijicking tons of traffic everyday.
