Whereas thousands of companies, institutions and products have the same denomination, just one domainer is able to grab the corresponding LLL.com. As soon as the combination does not use "bad letters" (q, k, w, x, y, z and to a lesser extent h,j, u & v...), any LLL.com (letter, letter, letter) domain name is currently sold at $xx,xxx. And this is the reseller price, selling to end-user climbs much higher. For the same reason, 3-digit & 3-character domain names (combination of letters & digits), are selling well in .com, and to a lesser extent in .net, .org and other extensions. The number of google results is also used to assess their value. Starting with an A or a B is a plus.

The same happens with 4-letter domains (LLLL.com), althought of course statistically much less institutions, companies and products share the same acronym. Their mode of valuation is also slightly different because the fact that they are pronouncable and/or brandable is highly valued.
