All other things equal, the meaning of a domain name is what makes most of its value. Generic words are the most valuable. Especially when they concern common words (car, shoe, credit...) referring to products or services that can be sold/purchased. The value of pronouns, adverbs and to a lesser extent adjectives is much lower than those of nouns. The plural tend to lower the value of a domain name.
But domain names that do not mean anything can also have some value. The marketing has tought us for long than good brands should first be catchy. Yahoo, Google, Amazon & Youtube are world successes and they are not generic domain names. Thus, pronouncable brandable domain names, if possible short, can sell well even though they do not mean anything.
